What a night!!
The 48th annual Awards Ceremony was held at Laura Secord Secondary
School in St. Catharines last night (Wed.Apr.7) and it was
a packed house! Thanks to the students, parents, grandparents,
teachers, presenters, sponsors who came out and congrats to
all students for making it to our regional fair. A special
congratulations goes out to the winners of the various special
awards and the divisional winners. Congrats to Team Niagara
2010 (pictured above with NRSEF Chair Dino Petruzzi) and good
luck as you prepare for the upcoming Canada Wide Science Fair
being held May 15-23 in Peterborough, Ontario.

The 48th annual Niagara Regional Science
and Engineering Fair has come to an end. The judging has taken
place and now we wait until Wednesday April 7, 2010
to find out who will be representing the Niagara region at
the Canada Wide sciene fair in Peterborough in May. A big
thank you to everyone who participated (students, parents,
teachers, judges). We couldn't have done it without all your
support and encouragement. The NRSEF committee invites everyone

Less than one week left until the48th
Annual NRSEF!!!!! Acceptance emails have been sent to all
those who have been accepted to participate. Please make sure
that you have replied to the email and printed out the attached
files. Students in grades 5 to 8 are reminded to bring
their signed permission form for the Youth University workshop
with them to registration on Friday March 26th. CLICK

Update - Friday February 12, 2010
Thank you to all students who have filled out a registration
application to the Niagara Regional Science and Engineering
Fair. Registration for the 48th annual NRSEF is NOW
CLOSED.
TEACHERS are reminded that all
signature forms, a ranked School Top Project Form as well
as the $50 school cheque need to be submitted to one the the
NRSEF committee members by the end of the school day on Thursday
February 18th as the NRSEF committee will be meeting as a
whole to discuss all applications.

As soon as the NRSEF has decided upon the successful applicants,

ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSES FEBRUARY 11th!!!! Updated

Only a few more days left to make sure that all fields in
the online registration database are filled in. Registration
closes at 11:59pm on Thursday February 11th. After that no
additions and changes can be made unless approved by the registration
chair.
STUDENTS make
sure that all registration items and COMPLETE and that you
print and sign the signature forms and give them to your teacher
to send to the Science Fair Committee. This needs to be done
BEFORE FEBRUARY 11th!!!
TEACHERS make
sure that you collect all signed signature forms from your
students and submit them to the appropriate committee member
(Dino Petruzzi for Niagara Catholic and Sean Hanna for Niagara
District, Jocelyne Martel for both French boards) along with
the Top School Project Form and the $50 school cheque. This
needs to be done BEFORE FEBRUARY
18th!!!

Updated
forms now available under the "Forms" tab. PDF forms
available to download for use of animals and human subjects.
Also updated are the rules conserning animals, humans, hazardous
chemicals, as well as recomb DNA and Virus. Any questions

The
48th annual Niagara Regional Science and Engineering Fair
is only 3 months away and things are
starting to take their shape. There are a few changes that
have been made regarding rules and the addition of all our
awards and the criteria the judges look for when judging the
science fair projects. A very important change is that INGESTION
PROJECTS are no longer allowed in the science fair.
This change comes from the Canada Wide level. To read more
about it check out the Rules and Regulations section of this
website.

BACK TO SCHOOL!!
The
48th annual Niagara Regional Science and Engineering Fair
is only 6 months away and the committee is looking
forward to the new year. There are many changes that will
be happening (including this website) over the course of the
next few months. If you have any questions or comments about
your project/rules/regulations/etc., please contact one of
the committee members listed on the contacts page of the website.
